Long Description

The Red Priesthood is a religious order that believes the essence of life and flame are one, and that sacrifice is the path to spiritual truth. To them, pain is not punishment but transformation; blood and fire are offerings that purify, strengthen, and connect mortals to the divine.

Founded by Malin Mattsdottor, the Red Witch of Kanton, after her communion with the Akkadians, the order began as a sect that embraced sacrifice as the truest form of worship. Over generations, the Red Priesthood became more structured, evolving into a priestly order that provides ritual guidance, initiations, and spiritual ceremonies for those who seek strength through struggle.

At its heart lies the Burning Rite, an initiation where followers carve sacred sigils into their flesh and channel their essence into ritual fire. The act symbolizes rebirth, teaching that devotion always comes with a price. While outsiders often see the rite as brutal, within the Priesthood it is understood as a holy passage — a declaration of faith and willpower.

Though feared for their severity, the Red Priests are not only zealots. Many serve as ritual leaders, healers, and teachers of endurance, embodying their doctrine of strength through sacrifice. Their presence is tolerated, sometimes even respected, wherever people crave both spiritual meaning and raw power.
