Infinite Archivist

Playability:

Magical

The Infinite Archivists are the heart and memory of the Infinite Atheneum, a revered interstellar institution dedicated to preserving all forms of knowledge - arcane, historical, cultural, and scientific. Far from passive librarians, these Archivists are lifelong stewards trained in magical wards, philosophical reasoning, and ethical containment. They oversee vast repositories across sanctified locations like Athos Prime, Eos Station, and the hidden Veiled Archive, where they care for living scrolls, psychic echoes, cursed relics, and time-lost truths.

Though traditionally bound to their vaulted halls, modern threats to galactic memory have forced many Archivists into the field. The rise of knowledge piracy, rogue AI theologians, entropy cults, and weaponized history has made passive containment impossible. Today’s Archivists travel to recover stolen tomes, repair fractured records, and assess cultural collapse at its roots. Their presence outside the Atheneum signals a crisis: knowledge once held safe is at risk, and only those trained to understand its weight may intervene. Whether preserving, interpreting, or safely erasing what others fear to comprehend, the Archivists carry not just facts—but the fate of meaning itself.

Profession Benefits

Eternal Chronicle Access: You can access the Eternal Chronicle, the Atheneum’s most secure digital repository, containing forgotten wars, secret treaties, and magical formulas erased from public records. Must be present though.

Silent Vault Instinct: You intuitively recognize when a building, ruin, facility or just a room was once a place of hidden storage - even if all traces have been erased.

Profession Restrictions

May not cast spells that can destroy items, books, storages of knowledge etc (fire, ligtning, magnetic etc.)

Outsider to Change: Your job is to preserve. Revolutionary or reformist movements often view you with suspicion or contempt for being tied to the “old world.”
