Faction Type

Industrial & Labour Factions

Rouktu’s primary industrial labor force, dominated by Marduk workers, responsible for extracting, processing, and exporting the planet’s resources to corporate markets.

Focus

Mining, industrial labor, and large-scale resource extraction.

Specialities

Heavy Labor – Moving and processing massive quantities of raw materials.

Mining Expertise – Skilled in both open-pit and deep-shaft operations.

Resource Processing – Turning raw extractions into refined commodities.

Industrial Maintenance – Keeping machinery operational under punishing conditions.

Notable Features

The Blood Shift – Grueling work cycles under extreme conditions that push laborers to their physical and mental limits.

Marduk-Dominated Workforce – Skilled heavy laborers renowned for their physical endurance.

Industrial Web – A network of mines, refineries, and transport hubs feeding corporate supply chains.

Smelter Halls – Centralized facilities where raw ores are processed and refined for export.

Structure

Shift Foreman – Oversees work crews, ensuring quotas are met and equipment remains operational.

Mine Engineer – Maintains extraction equipment, ventilation systems, and safety measures.

Haul Crew – Operates the massive loaders, lifters, and transports moving ore to processing facilities.

Smelter Operator – Works the furnaces and refining systems to produce export-grade materials.

Reputation

Respected for resilience and skill in their craft.

Pity and Disdain from outsiders who see them as trapped in endless labor.

Feared in rare uprisings, when their numbers and industrial tools are turned against authority.

Major Rivalries

Masidna – While they often cooperate, tensions rise over machinery maintenance and equipment allocation. Masidna mechanics accuse Ruvkebagi foremen of overworking equipment, while Ruvkebagi laborers resent delays caused by “overcautious” engineers.

Vuodji – Warlord demands for tribute or labor drafts often pull skilled miners away from production, leading to strikes, sabotage, or subtle resistance.

Soahtti – Contract enforcers are frequently hired to keep Ruvkebagi production quotas high, creating a hostile relationship where the miners view Soahtti as corporate muscle.

Beana – Nomadic traders often act as middlemen for Ruvkebagi goods, but price disputes and accusations of exploitation create recurring feuds.

Drusari Syndicate – The Syndicate’s black-market mineral operations undercut official sales and occasionally force Ruvkebagi crews into dangerous, off-book extractions.

Long Description

The Ruvkebagi form the unyielding backbone of Rouktu’s industrial might. Comprised largely of Marduk laborers, their existence revolves around the relentless demand for minerals, metals, and rare elements sold to off-world corporations. For most, it is not a calling but a necessity — a cycle of back-breaking work, dangerous conditions, and corporate exploitation.

Ruvkebagi laborers work in vast open-pit quarries, deep mine shafts, and sprawling industrial complexes scattered across the planet. Their schedules are dictated by the infamous Blood Shift, a brutal work rotation where crews are driven to work in extreme conditions for punishing hours, with minimal rest between shifts. Accidents are frequent, and fatalities are accepted as a cost of doing business.

Despite their oppression, the Ruvkebagi take pride in their skill and endurance. Among their own, they maintain a culture of solidarity, mutual aid, and stubborn resilience. Outsiders often see only the grime and exhaustion, but beneath it lies a deep knowledge of Rouktu’s geology, machinery, and the industrial networks that feed the planet’s economy.

Some rise above the labor lines to become foremen, negotiators, or even saboteurs working against corporate masters. Others find themselves bound to mining conglomerates for life, their labor traded like a commodity. Yet all share a common truth: without the Ruvkebagi, Rouktu’s industries would grind to a halt.
