Pathfinders are the beating heart of the Nouguras and its most recognized face. They are the first step into the unknown for caravans, settlers, prospectors, and military scouts. Every expedition into uncharted territory depends on the Pathfinder’s ability to interpret the land, read the signs of nature, and anticipate danger before it strikes.
The best Pathfinders are more than navigators—they are tacticians of the wild. They know when to move and when to hold, where to cross a river without losing supplies, and how to read the behavior of wildlife to avoid ambush or locate resources. Many learn their craft through a mentor-apprentice system, culminating in the Skyfire Ritual, proving they can survive alone and return with a trophy or rare find from a dangerous biome.
A Pathfinder’s role demands independence, decisiveness, and a deep sense of responsibility. In the wilderness, one wrong choice can mean losing the trail—or lives.
No 'loud' weapons.
Living Compass – Can instinctively orient themselves to find north even under poor visibility, magical interference, or when navigational tools fail.
Wild Allies – Maintains informal relationships with hunters, trappers, and locals along common routes, gaining aid when needed.
Route Secrecy – Revealing valuable paths without Nouguras approval can result in exile or loss of profession standing.
Mistrusted by Urban Factions – Groups like the Virgalas or Gavpi may view Pathfinders as unreliable “wild folk” unsuited for structured, time-sensitive trade.
