Characters use Awareness to stay alert, avoid surprises, and interpret subtle cues. It's essential for scouts, investigators, and anyone who needs to read a room or react quickly.

Detect High Tech and Magic is the ability to sense, recognize, and analyze the presence of advanced technology or magical effects in an environment.
Detect Illusions is the skill of noticing subtle inconsistencies in light, sound, texture, or logic that suggest something isn’t real. It allows characters to see through magical illusions, holographic projections, or high-tech camouflage by detecting discrepancies in the environment.
Discern dishonesty in conversation by interpreting subtle cues in behavior, tone, and timing - spotting falsehoods others might accept at face value.
Gather Knowledge is the ability to subconsciously absorb and recognize information that is relevant or useful, even without actively searching for it. This skill represents a keen, passive awareness of details in the environment, allowing a character to pick up on rumors, symbols, patterns, and useful facts without deliberate effort.
Peripheral Awareness is the ability to perceive events and movements outside of one’s direct line of sight allowing to detect attacks from behind, flanks etc.
Instantly assess social tension, mood shifts and power dynamics. It allows a character to pick up on unspoken cues, hidden agendas, and interpersonal relationships,
Recall facts, patterns, or details from earlier encounters, studies, or observations—instantly or under pressure.
Special training improves your general perception when you are actively scanning for specific threats. You must clearly state what you're looking for - an item, concealed weapons etc.
Spot Habit involves noticing behavioral patterns or signals that reveal a person's true intentions, particularly in situations involving deception or negotiation. Classically known from poker, but very useful in other stressing situations.
Gauge an opponent’s general combat effectiveness, stance, and condition compared to your own.
Sense the presence of mechanical, magical, or technological traps before triggering them.
Identify vulnerabilities (and strengths) in enemies to exploit in combat or spellcasting.
