Allows you to produce an item or know exactly where to find it - whether hidden in your gear, stashed elsewhere, or located within the city.
Roll 1d100 + Ressource Item skill vs. DR 100 + modifiers
This skill is narrative-driven and should be used whenever a character claims to have a needed item they haven't written down or wants to quickly procure it from the surroundings.
If successful, you either:
– Have the item on your person or among your things
– Know exactly where it is stashed nearby
– Know someone nearby who has the item and can be contacted or convinced quickly
If you fail, the item is not available, or cannot be retrieved in time.
–10 to -30 to DR if item is common, small, or cheap
+20 DR if item is large, rare, or from a different tech base
+10 to +30 DR if you're in a remote location or far from supply points
+15 DR if the item is a specific tool, component, or material not commonly carried
–10 to -20 DR if you’re in a large city or near a reliable contact/source
+40 to +80 DR for highly unusual, forbidden, or alien items
The team needs a short-range jammer and you're in a medium sized city.
DR = 100 + 20 (rare tech item) – 10 (urban access) = 110 → Roll = 117 → SR = 7 → You know a shady vendor 2 blocks away.
Locked in a cell with no tools. “These wiring strips on my belt—they might act as lock picks.”
DR = 100 + 15 (unconventional tool use) = 115
Roll = 135 → SR = 20 → You work the lock open with shaking hands.
Ressource Item is a narrative-flexibility skill that represents how prepared, well-networked, and cunning the character is when it comes to retrieving or producing essential items. Characters with this skill are the types who always seem to have “just what’s needed”—be it a battery for a dying scanner, a rolled-up map hidden in a boot, or knowledge of the nearest underground supplier.
It’s not meant to replace inventory management but instead offer creative, high-risk moments where the character's foresight and connections can shine. It can be used in and out of combat, especially during time-critical missions, infiltration scenarios, or survival moments where preparation meets pressure.
