Monk

Playability

Self Discipline
Intuition

The monk relies on their intuitive insights and a superb self discipline both in combat and in everyday life. High scores in physical abilities will boost the monks fighting capabilities, whereas good scores in Reasoning and Memory can underpin the monks' training in academic disciplines. Monks often train in martial arts but can use any weapon in combat.

Monks are often seen as calm and focused warriors, their disciplined nature respected by allies and feared by foes. Their ability to turn even the smallest movement into a powerful strike sets them apart, making them unpredictable and deadly opponents.

Ability Prioritization Explained

Core Abilities
Self Discipline: Self Discipline: Your backbone for composure and focus. Directly supports Medical (steady hands, triage discipline), Academics (sustained concentration, study forms), and Awareness (vigilance, controlled breathing) so you execute precisely under pressure.
Agility: Fine balance and body control. Drives clean entries/exits, accurate strikes, and evasive angles across Movement, Melee Expertise, and reactive Defense plays.

Supporting Abilities
Quickness: Initiative and beat-matching—act first, chain counters, and snap out of danger. Strong for Movement, Melee Expertise, and interrupt-style Defense.
Intuition: Reads opponents and flow—spot tells, traps, and momentum shifts. Helps with Awareness, smarter Defense choices, and when to press or disengage.

Important Abilities
Strength: Striking power, clinch control, and finish pressure—useful in Brawling and heavier melee lines.
Constitution: Endurance for long bouts, environmental stress, and fighting while chipped.
Presence: Poise under scrutiny—helps with de-escalation and deterrence before blows land.
Boldness: Commitment to decisive entries, counters, and all-in windows when hesitation would get you clipped.

Minor Abilities
Reasoning: Planning helps, but live timing and body mechanics matter more here.
Memory: Useful for forms and sequences, yet not a limiter in the scrum.
Empathy: Helpful outside the ring; low impact on your core combat kit.
Creativity: Nice for odd-angle solutions and improvised setups, but secondary to discipline and timing.
