Rouktu

Description

Rouktu is an inhabited planet in the Beivvas solar system located in the Norma spiral arm of the Milky Way Galaxy. It has served as a ressource-planet for the interstellar travel hub, Boares Space City, for more than two millenea.

Rouktu is a fertile, geological active super-Earth with a circumference along the equator of 80.000 km (twice of the Earth's 40.000 km).

The total surface area of the planet is 2.037.056.730 km2 (roughly four times larger than the Earth's 510.100.000 km2).

Gravity: 14 m/s²

Rotation: 20-hour days

Orbit: 204-day years

Notable Features

Landmasses & Oceans

  • Earth/Water Ratio: 40/60
  • Young planet (like earth) with active plate tectonics, volcanoes and earthquakes.
  • Vast continents with deep valleys and towering mountain ranges.
    • Skarneth - A wind-swept supercontinent following the northern jetstream, known for permanent cyclones, jagged coastlines, and steep mountain ranges.
    • Tahr-Veyra – “Throne of the League” in a constructed language. The central island-continent, home to Narthos, blending high technology with fortified trade and war. A key logistical and political hub.
    • Rathuun - Western Continent: Tall, narrow, and rich in vertical mountain ranges. The western backbone of Rouktu, with cliffs falling into deep jungle and mist-choked valleys.
    • Burshan - The Eastern mirror to Nelmar, it holds arid plateaus, mineral fields, and old warzones now ruled by feudal lords or corporate powers.
    • Iglumi - Southern Polar Continent. An icy wilderness battered by frozen maelstroms, yet rich in crystalline resources and old ruins buried in permafrost.
    • Karnath - Northern Polar Continent. The northern ice cap is less harsh than the south but constantly shifting due to magnetic anomalies and tectonic drift.
    • Abomos - Jungle island south of Tahr-Veyra. Lush, warm, and filled with steam and bioluminescent life. Believed to be the birthplace of old magic.
    • Vaeloris - Eastern Archipelago (Split Continent) – A chain of island-continents connected by trade rafts and sailing routes. Center of the Goulli mariner culture.
    • Kenim - Fertile Mid-Eastern Continent. Agricultural heartland and spiritual homeland of the Bhappa. Rolling plains and forested temples.
    • Tadaro - Hot, volcanic, and shrouded in ash. Uninhabitable.
  • Saltwater seas filled with leviathan-like creatures, a prime food source.
  • Massive river systems carving out deep canyons due to intense gravity.
  • Steep cliffs, sharp mountain peaks, and deep caves due to accelerated erosion.

Notable Geographic Features

  • The Scar – A canyon so deep that its bottom is permanently in darkness.
  • Storm Peaks – A mountain range generating perpetual cyclones.
  • Skybreaker Plateaus – High-altitude cliffs, home to bird-like species.
  • The Shattered Wastes – A desert scarred by meteor impacts.
  • Crystal Forests – Towering mineral formations resembling frozen forests.

Climate and Nature

Rouktu’s is a large planet with moderate to high gravity of 15 m/s, compared to earth's 10 m/s. Axial tilt 33 degrees causes areas with extreme seasonal differences, but due to the size of the planet there are wide zones with stable weather.

Moderate to high atmospheric pressure of 1,3 bar allowing for many types of large flying creatures and some types of floating plants/plankton.

Climate zones

  • Average temperature: 17 degrees
  • Pole areas: Extreme seasons with hot summers, winthers with ice and snowfall and springs with floods.
  • The Storm Fronts: Large areas along the line between polar regions and temperate with permanent, powerful storms.
  • Equatorial regions: Stable, warm zones.

Atmosphere & Weather

  • Fast rotation (20-hour days) results in powerful storms and jet streams.
  • The thick atmosphere combined with floating plankton in some zones - close to the storms - filters sunlight, creating a muted orange, deep red, or violet sky.
  • Mega-storms, similar to Jupiter’s Great Red Spot, exist in stable atmospheric zones.
